SWE3 - Kristianstad and Arlanda won gold at Skogsvallen

Kristianstad Predators won their very first SC gold in flag football, while Arlanda Jets extended their dominance with a seventh gold when the SC playoffs for the 2024 season were decided at Skogsvallen in Nässjö on September 28.

In the men's semi-finals, the audience was treated to drama. Kristianstad Predators, who won the series, met the home team Nässjö Saints and kept the favorite pressure with their 32–28 win. The second semi-final between Eskilstuna Sharks and Uppsala 86ers was a real thriller where the score after full time was 35–35. The game was decided in overtime when the Sharks, after a nice touchdown and a game-deciding extra point, secured their place in the final.

The men's final between Kristianstad Predators and Eskilstuna Sharks was also a real nail biter! Predators led at halftime 28–21 and continued to hold the lead throughout the game. With only 50 seconds left on the clock, Christoffer Malmgren secured the victory for Kristianstad with a spectacular acrobatic touchdown to make it 54-40. A historic first flag football gold for Kristianstad Predators!

River Kromnow was named MVP in gold-winning Kristianstad and Pontus Råneby was named best player in Eskilstuna Sharks.

In the bronze match, last year's champions Nässjö Saints showed that they have not given up the fight for the medals - they defeated Uppsala 86ers convincingly 42-24 and thus took home the bronze.

On the women's side, Arlanda Jets continued to dominate as they took on Finland's Kouvola Indians in the final. During the season, the Indians were certainly the first team in three years to defeat the Jets in the series, but in the final on September 28, it was all Arlanda. Jenny Gramenius and Josefina Kydönholma each had an interception for Arlanda and Kouvola had to leave the field scoreless, while Arlanda scored 20 points during the game – Jenny Sagbrant and Nina Lindholm scored two touchdowns each while Karin Segerros scored one.

The gold was Arlanda Jet's seventh and fourth in a row – impressive! Anna Brolin was named MVP of the match for Arlanda, while Anni Udd was named best player in Kouvola Indians.
